About Us
The Lowville Town Hall Theatre is family
owned and operated. In 1990, Patrick and Patricia O’Brien purchased the Town
Hall. Pat and Patty did a lot of cleaning up around the theatre and even
discovered some wonderful old posters advertising some of our favorite movies
from days gone by. One of the great advancements that were made at the Town Hall
was that Pat and Patty were able to update the movies being played at the
theatre. After being known for showing movies at the tail end of their theater
run, the Town Hall now shows first run movies within the first week or so of
release.
The Town Hall has always been a social gathering spot at its location just off
the busy Four Corners on Shady Avenue in Lowville. With seating capacity of 687
you will always be able to have a comfortable place to relax and watch the
movies you like. During summer vacation the Town Hall is open Tuesday through
Thursday evenings, as well as the
regular Friday through Sunday hours. Pat and Patty also offer use of the Town Hall to groups
during operating days in the winter and throughout the week during warmer
weather. The latest movie on hand is available for viewing during the group’s
function.
Without the help of the great staff, the Town Hall would not be able to run
efficiently. Patty’s dad, William Mahoney, manages the Town Hall and several of
Patty’s family members work in the many areas needed to run the theatre. Pat’s
brother, Harold O’Brien designed the website several years ago and passed the
torch on to their nephew Matthew Phelps who keeps it maintained and did the
upgrades on the site (now Thriving Designs).
